  • What is 8K stainless steel?

8K stainless steel is a type of stainless steel with a smooth, mirror-like finish. Its surface is ground and polished to achieve a mirror-like finish.
8K mirror panels are corrosion-resistant and can also be processed through processes such as plating and etching. They are mainly used in various decorations or metal optical products.
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel plates mainly depends on their alloy composition (chromium, nickel, titanium, silicon, and manganese, etc.) and internal organizational structure, among which the chromium element plays a decisive role. It can form a passivation film on the surface of steel, isolating the metal from the outside world and thus hindering oxidation, thereby enhancing the corrosion resistance of stainless steel plates.
The "8" in 8K mirror stainless steel plate refers to the proportion of alloy components. Taking 304 stainless steel plate as an example, its "8" value is the nickel content; and "K" refers to the level of reflectivity that can be achieved after the stainless steel plate is polished (K grade is the level of mirror reflection), so 8K mirror plate is the mirror grade reflected by chromium-nickel alloy.

  • What's the difference between Larsen steel sheet piles and regular steel sheet piles?

Larsen steel sheet piles are U-shaped steel sheet piles with locking tabs at both ends, allowing them to interlock together to form a single sheet pile wall. They offer excellent sealing, high rigidity, and strength, providing both soil and water retention, strong support capabilities, and reliable stability. They require the appropriate type of pile driver to be selected based on soil conditions and pile size.

Regular steel sheet piles are similar to channel steel in a U-shape and lack locking tabs at both ends. While they retain soil, they lack strong water retention. The thickness of the steel is not strong, and they are prone to deformation after use, requiring correction and maintenance. They can be used for support in locations with less stringent environmental requirements. They are inexpensive, can be used in large quantities, are easy to install, and can be driven with an excavator.

  • What are the sources of scrap metal?

Scrap metal refers to metal fragments and debris discarded by industries and metal processing, as well as metalware discarded after equipment upgrades. It also includes metal packaging materials, scrap cars, and other metal items collected from municipal waste. Scrap metal is a resource, and specialized companies worldwide specialize in scrap recycling. Scrap metal is primarily used for smelting and reuse, with some used in the production of industrial equipment and parts, tools, and consumer electronics. The main sources of scrap metal are as follows:

    1. Internal Scrap Metal
This is scrap metal generated within manufacturing companies and reused as raw material for their own production. Typically, this scrap metal does not enter the market.

    2. Processed Scrap Metal
This is scrap metal generated by domestic metal manufacturing companies and returned to metal recycling plants for reuse as raw material. Typically, this scrap metal returns to recycling plants within a few weeks of its generation, hence the name "short-term scrap metal."

    3. Depreciated Scrap Metal
This is scrap metal generated when metal products reach the end of their useful life and are scrapped. Since the formation of depreciated scrap metal requires several life cycle stages such as metal production, manufacturing of metal products, use, scrapping and recycling, which generally takes several years or even more than ten years, depreciated scrap metal is also called "long-term scrap metal".
